Jadav Payeng

When I set out on the journey of writing about Jadav Payeng, I began with an image of him standing in his forest. Years later, this journey has come full circle. I am overwhelmed with emotion as I share images of Jadav holding his book!

Huge thanks to Sleeping Bear Press and Beda Dutta of Ygdrasil Bamboo Cottages for helping to get these books to Majuli Island in India. Also, special thanks to Munmuni Payeng for sharing this photos with us. I have received the kindest messages from so many individuals in Assam. I am immensely grateful to have been able to share Jadav's story with young readers. I truly hope Jadav and Majuli Island continue to inspire children everywhere. Thank you!
