Perfect for younger audiences. Author Sophia Gholz leads an engaging story time as she reads one of her picture books and discusses what it means to be an author. The story time will be followed by a brief Q&A.
Big Dreams, Everyday Heroes, and The Power of One
45 minutes, Grades 1-5
In this presentation, author Sophia Gholz discusses the importance of everyday heroes, big dreams, and the power everyone has to make a positive impact in the world. This uplifting presentation features a reading of one of Sophia’s books and includes a 10–15-minute Q&A.
30-45 minutes, Grades 1-5
Author Sophia Gholz presents her journey as an author, from childhood to publishing her first book. In this presentation, Sophia discusses what it means to be an author, the importance of hard work, and following your dreams. This is a 25–30-minute presentation, followed by an author Q&A.
From Start to Finish: Making a Book
45 minutes, Grades 3-5
In this presentation, author Sophia Gholz discusses the importance of everyday heroes, big dreams, and the power each person has to make a difference in the world on a local and global scale. This presentation features examples from Sophia's nonfiction biographies, which include: The Boy Who Grew A Forest, Dinosaur Hunter and This is Your World. This is a 25 minute presentation, followed by a Q&A.

Virtual Author Visits
Free 15-minute virtual author Q&A visits are available for individual classes and groups (10-35 people). During her visit, Sophia will answer questions and share a little about her writing journey. Teachers/adults are encouraged to share Sophia’s book(s) with the group prior to her virtual visit so children may prepare questions. Book order forms and free signed book plates are available for every group.
Sophia is always happy to visit a bookstore. Her in-person bookstore events can easily be tailored to meet the needs of the store. She is also happy to provide signed bookplates for bookstores.
